Description
Explore Doi Tung and the villa of Thailand’s Princess Mother. The villa was built by the late Princess Mother as a summer palace on the slopes of Doi Dong. It now opens as a museum. Within the complex, you can take some photos at the beautiful garden, walk around a small open-air market with local agricultural products, ready-to-eat food and hill-tribe handicrafts. Another highlight is the temple of Doi Tung. At the peak of 1800m above the sea level, Wat Phra That Doi Tung is built around the twin Lanna-style chedis. From the temple, you can get an aerial view of the winding road you’ve just climbed. The last stop is the Mae Sai market, located on the Thailand-Myanmar border.
