Description
Kulen Mountain is located about 30km northwards from Angkor. Its name means "mountain of the lychees". There is a sacred hilltop site on top of the range. It is considered by the Khmers to be the most sacred mountain in the country. At the summit, you can see the 16th-century Buddhist pagoda notable for an 8-meter-tall statue of the reclining Buddha reaching nirvana, the country’s largest. The last spot is a waterfall split in two smaller falls. The water is considered holy and Khmers often bottle it to take home.
