ITINERARY
Description
Angkor Wat at sunrise might be a bit crowded, but absolutely deserves to see as the view is so amazing. Quietly wait and watch the sun gradually rises over the massive Angkor Wat – the world’s largest religious monument till it is fully above the horizon. Then take an elephant ride to the Bayon temple known for its huge stone faces of the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, with one facing outward and keeping watch at each compass point. The enigmatic smiling faces said to be a portrait of Jayavarman himself, have been dubbed the “Mona Lisa of Southeast Asia”.
